Biography
Marc Boucher has a background in circus arts and dance. He gradually integrated
media arts into his work, which is centred on the moving body and image. He formulated
the concept of kinetic synaesthesia, outlined in his doctoral thesis. He now
pursues his research at Zorved2, a laboratory for artistic experimentations on
visual perception in relation to synaesthesia.

" Peripheral vision, proprioception and immersive video : the «lCr» device "
The «lCr» device consists of three screens; a central (C) and two
lateral (l and r) screens, respectively assigned to central and peripheral vision.
The device is based on the assumption that a particular kinetic sensation can
be induced through peripheral vision. The experience is immersive insofar as
the spectator’s proprioception is affected, namely on how the combination
of moving images stimulate the kinesthesic sense.
Key-words : kinesthesis, kinetic synaesthesia, proprioception, intersensoriality,
immersion, central vision, peripheral vision, screens, synthesis, concertation,
device, video.
